| Bio: | Presto, the Magician comes from the Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon series. I do not own him, nor do I own Topher Grace, who plays him here in the Icons. This journal is for role playing purposes alone. *** His real name is Albert Fredericks, but he never uses it, and his friends resorted to his nickname when he stopped answering it. Presto was a well-meaning, diligent, but sometimes hopeless magician. He was a nerd right out of the early 1980s: he suffered from low self-confidence and nervousness, which manifested in the use of his magic item: his magical hat. He was able to pull all sorts of items from it, but often these were, or at least appeared to be of little use. For instance, in one encounter, they were being plagued by giant hornets. His hat produced an electric fan, which he thought was useless until it blew the malevolent insects away. Other examples include a working fire hose against a lava dragon, or a weed-killer sprayer against a Shambling Mound. There were also numerous instances when the whole group was in danger, and he would absolutely nail it, and save all his friends. The difficulty was that Presto was young and still “coming into his own power” ). The user must know what he/she wants when reaching into the magic hat, and Presto’s indecisiveness tended to sabotage his results. He was nicknamed Presto even before coming to the magical realm, and because he was constantly trying to show people magic tricks that didn't work, which led to his nickname. And he’s completely helpless without his glasses – which is his greatest fear. About that magical realm. When he was 14, he was sucked into it, along with his friends, where he lived for six years, fighting against evil and seeking a way home. He and his friends found it eventually, but came home to a world that had passed them by, for while six years had passed for them, more then 20 had passed for the Earth. Presto tried to fit back in, but discovered he no longer did. And then, a month after he came home, he discovered something else; his hat. Amazed to find it, he tried to pull something out, and he did. He went off to find his friends, but they had all gone on with their lives, and weren't interested in the magic. So he packed up, and left. Now, settling into a new life, he is using his hat, and finding that sometimes, dreams do come true! He is accompanied by his familiar, recently made with his hat, a talking computer named Ted. *** And now, swept away into from all he has known, he is in the strange newe world, starting a new adventure in the Realm of ! | |||||||||
